во всех странах мира. Доклад преследует две цели. Во-первых, он
дает общее представление об уровнях и тенденциях смертности на основе
результатов Обзора
2006 года Мировых демографических прогнозов. Во-вторых, доклад
содержит перечень потенциально доступных данных, имеющих отношение
к оценке детской и взрослой смертности на национальном уровне.
В докладе представлена информация о уровнях и тенденциях
смертности по каждой из 195 стран и районов (далее именуемые "страны"),
в которых проживало хотя бы 100000 жителей в 2007 году. Оценки уровней
и тенденций смертности по каждой стране представлены в разбивке
по возрасту и полу. Такие данные собираются с помощью различных
инструментов, включая статистику регистрации событий естественного
движения населения, где фиксируется смерть, переписи населения,
которые дают численность населения, подверженного риску смерти и
выборочных обследований, в которых смерть фиксируется ретроспективно.
Количество и качество данных для расчета оценок уровней смертности
и тенденций за период с 1950 по 2005 год в целом и для всех возрастных
групп, различаются по странам и во времени.
