AIDS IMPACT: BIOPSYCHOSOCIAL ASPECTS OF HIV INFECTION
FIFTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE 8-11 JULY 2001, BRIGHTON, U.K.
The psychological and social impact of HIV upon infected individuals,
their partners, families, friends and carers can be immense. Recent
advances in medical treatments have brought new challenges for people
living with HIV. The 1st International Conference on Biopsychosocial
Aspects of HIV Infection was held in Amsterdam in 1991. The 2nd
Conference, AIDS IMPACT, took place in Brighton in 1994, with more
than 1,000 delegates from all over the world. In 1997 AIDS IMPACT
was held in Melbourne, and in 1999 in Ottawa. AIDS IMPACT returns
to Brighton in 2001, providing the first opportunity in the new
millennium for delegates to share their knowledge and experience
in the field of psychosocial care.
