Open Call for Demography sessions, International
Institute of Sociology, Beijing, July 2003.
The IIS has invited the ISA Research Committee on the
Sociology of Population, (RC41) to organise the demographic sessions
at the forthcoming world congress, to take place in Beijing, 7-11
July, 2003.

For the present we are making an open call for demography papers,
which we will later organise into sessions by theme. If you are
interested in attending and presenting a paper, or even of organising
a session around a specific theme, please let me know. The deadline
for abstract submission is 31 March, 2003, but I would appreciate
an earlier expression of intent, so as we can organise the framework
of sessions which we will propose to IIS.
If there is sufficient interest, we shall also try and organise
a "Demographer's tour of China", the usual sights (sites?),
but also
giving attention to patterns of living.
