    • The population of Russia has been declining for the fifth year in a row - at the beginning of 2023 it numbered 146.4 million people, having decreased by 0.4% over the year
    • Natural decline was around 600,000, with a sharp decrease in migration growth offsetting it by only 6%
    • According to preliminary data, in 2022 the population decreased in 72 out of 85 subject regions
    • The number of births in Russia continues to decline, falling to 1,306 thousand people, or 9% in January-December 2022
    • The number of registered marriages increased in 2022 by 14%, divorces - by 6%
