• Life expectancy is still increasing, but the number of deaths and total mortality rate started increasing again
• The number of deaths from all major causes except for digestive and circulatory system diseases continued to decline
• Despite the continued decline in mortality from external causes, it remains extremely high in Russia in general as well as in its regions
• Infant mortality continued to decline reaching 7,5 ‰
• Net migration in Russia declined by one third, amounting to 158,000 persons
